You Don’t Have to Be Fast to Take Running Seriously
Hi, I’m Amanda!
PhD (in progress) in Exercise Physiology & Sports Nutrition.
Certified Strength and Conditioning Coach.
And someone who was once picked last in gym class.
I wasn’t always a runner. I didn’t grow up loving sports, in fact, I hated them. But running changed everything.
From “Left Behind” to World Triathlon Championships…
I wasn’t always a runner…
I started running in high school after joining the cross country team and immediately fell in love.
I wasn’t the strongest runner - but I really enjoyed going to practice, eventually being voted most valuable athlete and most valuable teammate by my coaches and team respectively.
After high school, I continued running while studying Kinesiology at the U of S. I trained with the Cross Country and Track teams, and eventually joined a provincial triathlon club. Over the next 3 years, I participated in 3 ITU Sprint Triathlon World Championships on Team Canada (Age-Group Team).
I was dying to travel and see the world after I graduated, so I moved to Spain to undertake a Master in High Performance Sport: Strength and Conditioning.
I became obsessed with endurance sports and improving physical performance and went on to complete a 200hr internship in strength and conditioning. I learned everything I could about how to use strength training to both improve performance and reduce injury risk before moving on…
Eventually, I went out on my own to start Running with Regnier - focusing primarily on improving performance in endurance runners (and the occasional triathlete).
I have used science-backed approaches to help both beginners and seasoned athletes run first their marathon, qualify (and run) in the Boston marathon, race in 100km+ ultra marathons and Ironman’s (and every race in between!).
All running sessions and strength workouts that I offer in my one-to-one coaching packages are uniquely created for the athlete I’m working with. I’m here to help them achieve their best performance.
