Start to Strong: THE COACHING PROCESS

Fill out your application

Start by filling out the application form. From there, you can either apply to begin coaching right away or book a clarity call so we can make sure it’s the right fit. Not totally sure yet? Feel free to send me a DM on Instagram to say hi and ask any questions. Sometimes that’s the easiest way to get the ball rolling.

Let’s Get You Set Up

Once we’ve decided to move forward, I’ll walk you through a simple onboarding process. You’ll choose the package that best fits your needs, fill out a detailed training history and goals questionnaire, set up your payment method, and sign your coaching agreement. I’ve got you covered each step of the way.

03.

Create A Final Surge Account

This is where all your training will live. Once your account is active, you can sync your smartwatch so every run is automatically uploaded for tracking and analysis. If your plan includes strength training, this is also where you’ll access your personalized strength program. I’ll build out your full program before your first week so you have time to review.

04.

Training Begins

From here, we’re in it together. We’ll stay in touch throughout the week via text or WhatsApp, and if your package includes coaching calls, we’ll connect over Zoom or phone to talk through your progress, questions, and strategy.

  • Not at all! While I’m based in Calgary, Alberta, I coach runners from all over Canada and the U.S. Everything is fully remote and delivered through your custom online training platform (Final Surge), and we connect through coaching calls, texts, and check-ins.

    That said, if you're a local runner looking for a Calgary running coach who truly understands our terrain, weather, and race scene, you’ll benefit from my lived knowledge of training in this city.

  • Because if you want to run well and keep running long-term, then strength is non-negotiable.

    Many of the runners I work with come to me frustrated by injury, burnout, or plateauing performance. The missing piece is often a lack of structured strength work. As an online strength and running coach, I design programs that specifically complement your running. We’re not talking random exercises or bodyweight yoga flows. This is progressive, high-impact strength training designed to support your running goals.

    The result? Fewer injuries, better form, faster running, and the confidence to chase your next big milestone.

  • Great! If you’re already working with a strength coach or following a program designed for runners, we can skip that piece and focus on your custom running plan. But keep in mind: most general fitness programs (even group classes or bodyweight routines) aren’t enough to support long-distance running.

    My goal is to make sure you're getting the kind of training that helps you run stronger and long term.

  • That depends on how much support you want, and where you're at in your training journey. If you're self-motivated and already following a smart strength plan, The Independent Runner might be enough. If you want strategy, guidance, and real conversation around your goals and challenges, I’d recommend The Supported Runner (my most popular package) for the monthly coaching calls.

  • Nope! I coach runners at all levels. From beginners working up to their first 10K to experienced athletes chasing sub-3:30 marathons or training for ultras. What matters more than your pace is your mindset. If you’re goal-driven, committed to the process, and ready to grow, then you’re in the right place.

  • Not at all. While many of my athletes are training for half marathons, full marathons, or ultras, I also work with runners training for 5Ks, 10Ks, and everything in between. My programs are tailored to your goals, whether that’s getting back into running post-injury, shaving 5 minutes off your PR, or running pain-free for the first time in years.

  • Yes! After filling out the coaching form, you can choose whether you’re ready to start or prefer to book a quick call to make sure it’s the right fit. I’m always happy to chat, answer your questions, and walk you through what the coaching would look like for you.
